Video to JPG converter

Turn a video into JPG images: the frame on screen, the first or last frame, or a photo every few seconds in one ZIP, at full resolution. It is free, needs no sign-up, and the video never leaves your browser.

How to convert a video to JPG images

  1. Open the MP4, MOV or WebM file: choose it or drop it on the converter.
  2. Leave JPG selected, or switch to PNG for exact pixels.
  3. Pause on a frame and select This frame, or set the seconds between images and select Every.
  4. Download a single JPG, or all of them as one ZIP.

JPG or PNG?

JPG makes much smaller files, the right choice for images you will post, email or upload. This converter saves them at 92% quality, where the compression is hard to see.

PNG keeps every pixel exactly as the video decoded it, at the cost of larger files. Choose it for a frame you will edit, or use as the first frame of another video.

A video to an image sequence

Set the seconds between images and select Every to turn a whole video into a sequence of photos. Each file is named for its moment in the video, so the sequence sorts in order. Each run takes up to 120 frames, starting from where the video is paused.

Common questions

How do I convert an MP4 to JPG?

Open the MP4 in the converter above, pause on the frame you want and select This frame. To turn the whole video into JPGs, set the seconds between images, select Every, and download them as one ZIP.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video plays from your own device, and your browser draws and saves every frame. Nothing is sent to Oneirosea or anyone else.

Is the video to image converter free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you open. Each run takes up to 120 frames, starting from where the video is paused.

Can I convert a MOV or WebM to JPG?

Yes, if your browser can play the file. MP4 (H.264) and WebM play in every modern browser. A MOV from an iPhone plays in Safari, and in other browsers when the device can decode HEVC.

Will the JPGs be blurry?

Only where the video is. Each image is the frame exactly as your browser decodes it, at the video’s full size. Fast motion can carry blur in the video itself; a frame or two away is often sharper.
