How to find TikTok trends right now, in your niche

What’s trending on TikTok right now depends on where your customers are and what your niche is: TikTok’s feeds are unique to each person, shaped by their location and language. To find this week’s trends for your niche, filter Trends in TikTok’s free Creative Center by industry, search your niche in the app, and count how many creators are posting the same sound, format or hook. Or ask Oneirosea, which reads TikTok’s live trending feed for your market in one prompt.

Why a list of this week’s trends isn’t yours

TikTok builds each person’s For You feed from what they watch, like, share and comment on, their language and location, and the country each video was published in. Feeds stay unique to each person, even when some people see the same videos.

So a published list of this week’s trends was made for a general audience, often in another country, and written before you read it. The trends worth your time are the ones growing in your niche and your market now, and you find those by looking at your niche directly.

Check trending hashtags in TikTok’s Creative Center

Creative Center is TikTok’s free, public site of trends, top ads and creative tools for advertisers. You don’t need an account to use it, though TikTok recommends logging in to see all of its data.

  1. Open TikTok’s Creative Center and log in.
  2. Click Trends.
  3. Search, or filter by industry and time frame.
  4. Click See Analytics on a hashtag for its trendline, related videos, audience insights, regional popularity and related hashtags.

The trendline tells you whether a hashtag is still rising, and its regional popularity whether it is rising where your customers are.

  1. Tap Search at the top of the TikTok app, or open Discover, which shows trending videos, hashtags and creators. Some people see a Friends tab in its place.
  2. Search the words your customers use for your niche, not your brand’s.
  3. The Top tab shows the most relevant results. To narrow them, tap More options, then Filters, choose your filters and tap Apply.
  4. Open the videos that keep coming up and note each one’s sound, format and first line.

Search results are shaped by your own past searches, what you watch and where you are, as well as by how well a video matches your words.

How to tell a trend from one viral video

  • Several creators, not one. A trend is a sound, format or hook many accounts are using, not one video with big numbers.
  • Recent. Count the posts from the past week: a format that peaked a month ago has had its moment.
  • In your market. Check it is growing in the country your customers are in.
  • Right for your audience. A trend your customers would never watch won’t sell to them.
  • Something you can make. Note the hook, the format and the length, so you can make your own version, not a copy.

Find trending products on TikTok

TikTok Shop sells products through posts with product links, which show up in your feeds, in search and in the Shop tab where it is available.

  1. Search your product category in the Shop tab, or in search, and note the products that keep appearing.
  2. Open the posts linking to each one and see how many creators are making them, and how recently.
  3. Read the comments. Questions about where it’s from, other sizes or whether it works are people deciding to buy; complaints tell you what a better version would fix.
  4. Check the product isn’t everywhere yet: many sellers with near-identical videos mean you’re late.

Live trends for your niche in one prompt

Oneirosea works like ChatGPT for social media: you ask in plain words, and it answers from live public TikTok, Instagram and YouTube data instead of a list written last week. Ask for this week’s trends in your niche and it reads TikTok’s trending feed for your country, searches your niche for posts from the past week, checks Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts for the same trends, and hands back each one with the videos behind it and an angle you could make.

Prompt
What’s trending on TikTok in the US this week for home workouts? Show me the sounds, formats and hooks several creators are using, the videos behind each, and three ideas I could film.

For products, it searches TikTok Shop for each product’s price, units sold and rating, and reads the comments on the videos selling it. Agencies run the same prompt for each client’s niche, every week.

Prompt
Find the pet grooming products selling on TikTok Shop right now, with price and units sold, and tell me from the comments which ones people are asking to buy.
